What activities count in a Racery virtual race?

Over 80 activities convert to route miles — running, walking, cycling, swimming, yoga, dancing, even meditation. Conversions are effort-based so a yoga session and a bike ride move you roughly the same distance.

How much does Racery charge on charity donations?

Zero. 100% of donations go to charity. Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for payment processing — that's it.

Can people join after the race starts?

Yes. Racers can join anytime and backdate activity to the race start date. Late joiners appear in leaderboards immediately.

Do participants need to download an app?

No. Racery works on desktop, mobile web, or native iOS/Android apps. Participants can also sync via Strava to pull in runs, walks, swims, and rides automatically.

How do teams work?

Teams have fixed rosters, shared avatars on the route, private chat, and combined leaderboard stats. Groups are looser — anyone can join multiple groups for informal competition. Both are optional.

How long does setup take?

Most sponsors launch in under a week using our templates. Charity fundraising adds about 5 minutes. Custom routes and branding take a bit longer.
