What time do your concerts start?
Most of our concerts start at 8 pm on Friday or 4 pm on Sunday. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance. A few times a year, a concert may be at a different time or on a Saturday – please refer to the individual concert page for the correct information.
Is parking available?
Discounted parking is available at the Old First Garage, 1725 Sacramento Street. Discounted rates are: $7 for most cars or $12 for oversized vans/trucks. There is usually street parking available in the neighborhood as well.
How do I get to Old First Concerts via public transportation?
Old First Concerts is conveniently located at the corner of Sacramento Street and Van Ness Avenue. The westbound 1 California bus stops directly in front of the building as do the southbound 47/49 Van Ness buses. Buses in the other direction stop one block away at Clay Street. The California Cable Car line also ends one block from our location. BART riders can catch the 1 California bus near Embarcadero or the 47/49 bus near Civic Center.
Is there assigned seating?
Most of our concerts are open seating with no assigned seats. For some concerts, special VIP seating is available at a higher price which ensures seats in the center and close to the stage. When special seating is available, it will appear in the options on the concert page.
Is the building ADA accessible?
We have an elevator located next to the building entrance at 1751 Sacramento Street. To gain access, please ring the Concerts Office buzzer or phone 415.474.1608 and someone will come down to help with the door.
Are children allowed?
Yes, we encourage children, especially those who are studying music, to attend concerts whenever possible. Children under 12 receive FREE admission and Student Tickets are $5.

If you are a professional musician and are interested in performing as part of our series, please send a copy of your proposed program, a short bio, and some samples of your work to Director Matt Wolka . We are primarily focused on local musicians and cannot offer any compensation for travel or lodging. In addition, we usually schedule approximately one year in advance. Our musicians are paid a percentage of the total sales and we do not rent out the space outside of our series.
