What does FreedomCare do?

FreedomCare helps people receive care from someone they trust. Through state Medicaid programs, we make it possible for family members or friends to get paid for providing in-home care. Our team guides you through every step—from checking eligibility to caregiver enrollment—so your loved one can get care safely at home instead of in a facility.

How does FreedomCare work?

FreedomCare partners with state Medicaid programs to help people choose their own caregiver. Once approved, the person receiving care selects a family member or friend they trust. We handle the administrative side—like training, payroll, and support—so caregivers can focus on what matters most: caring for their loved one.

Where is FreedomCare available?

FreedomCare is available in multiple states across the U.S., including Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. We continue to expand so more families can access care from someone they know and trust. If your state is listed, you may be eligible to join the program.

How does this program work?

This program is funded by Medicaid, which allows eligible individuals to receive care at home through self-directed or consumer-directed models. After you apply and qualify, you select your caregiver, and FreedomCare manages payroll, compliance, and support services. We take care of the paperwork so families can focus on care and connection.

Does Medicare qualify you for FreedomCare?

No, Medicare alone does not qualify you for FreedomCare. This program is funded through Medicaid, which serves individuals with limited income and resources. If you currently have Medicare, you may still be able to qualify for Medicaid depending on your income, health needs, and state rules. We can help you check eligibility and apply if you qualify.
