Best Bike Split's math and physics engine models the forces acting on a rider — aerodynamic drag, rolling resistance, gravity, and wind — for every segment of your course. It combines your FTP, bike profile (CdA and weight), real course elevation data, and forecasted weather conditions to calculate the most efficient variable power output for your target finish time.

Does Best Bike Split work for Ironman racing?

Yes — Ironman racing is one of Best Bike Split's core use cases. Our database includes the vast majority of Ironman-branded courses worldwide, from Kona and Frankfurt to local regional events. The platform models the full 112-mile bike leg accounting for course profile, wind, heat, and your personal power data to help you arrive at T2 with the legs to run your best marathon.

Do I need a power meter to use Best Bike Split?

A power meter is strongly recommended for race day execution, but it is not required to create a plan. Best Bike Split can build plans using estimated power data, and our Wahoo ELEMNT / Garmin integration allows you to follow your power and speed targets in real time on your head unit. Speed-based targets are also available for athletes racing without a power meter.

Can coaches use Best Bike Split for their athletes?

Best Bike Split offers dedicated coaching subscriptions that allow coaches to create and manage athlete profiles, build race plans on their athletes' behalf, and share pacing strategies from one account. The Coach Annual plan supports unlimited athletes, while the Athlete Plus plan is designed for athletes who also coach a small number of paid athletes.
