Step 1

Start process First open a personal profile in less than 5 mins so that we can quickly FICA you. Log back into app to see banking canvas. Tap ‘+’ on grey empty tile, then choose ‘Add business’ and select relevant type.

Step 2

Provide proof that business exists Depends on business type – CIPC certificate / DSD certificate / trust deed / etc. Sole traders provide nothing. (We’ll guide you on the screen.)

Step 3

Add all owners plus those mandated to open / maintain this banking profile One single, simple screen. Owners = directors / shareholders / members / trustees / etc (depends on business type) and all ultimate beneficial owners (where applicable). If owner is an individual, provide cell number to uniquely link them to the business. By law, all owners must be FICAed, so ask them to open personal profiles – they don’t have to subsequently bank with us. (Or mark them as ‘foreigner’.) If owner is a business, give registration / trust / etc number. If want to create authorisation chain now, go ahead.

Step 4

To make it easy, we auto-populate all necessary declarations …and email to you – just add a last info we don’t yet have, then sign: Resolution to appoint mandated officials. Ownership / control structure showing all shareholders and ultimate beneficial owners. Watch out for messages to re-submit documentation.
